At Intersolar 2023, Sungrow, a global leader in photovoltaic inverters and energy storage solutions, was honored with the prestigious ees AWARD 2023 for its innovative liquid-cooled energy storage system, PowerStack. This system was specifically developed for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector and underscores the company's technological expertise.
The ees AWARD is presented by the trade fair for batteries and energy storage systems (electrical energy storage) and honors groundbreaking developments in the field of stationary and mobile electrical energy storage systems that contribute to the clean energy supply of the future.
With the official launch of the PowerStack in Europe, Sungrow now presents its latest C&I storage solution, which impresses with its exceptional flexibility and advanced safety features.
The PowerStack offers a battery capacity of between 527 kWh and 1146 kWh and is designed for applications with two to four hours of operation. The integrated system combines lithium-ion batteries, a power conversion system (PCS), an energy management system (EMS), and a fire protection system (FSS). The solution was designed for maximum user-friendliness— from transport and installation to operation and maintenance.
A special feature of the PowerStack is its efficient liquid cooling system, which ensures a smaller temperature difference compared to conventional air-cooled products and thus significantly extends the battery's service life.

The comprehensive safety concept extends to all areas – from the cell structure and electrical system to the overall system design. The AI-based monitoring technology performs precise, real-time calculations of cell status and issues early warnings to prevent extreme temperature fluctuations. Multi-layered surge protection and arc detection minimize fire risks, while patented cable connections, the IP65 module design, vent valves, and containment devices ensure comprehensive system safety.
Sungrow expects increasing demand in the market for commercial and industrial energy storage solutions as more and more European companies rely on renewable energy for power supply.
